Interpretive Handbook

This handbook was created as a resource for river guides on the American River. The books consists of six chapters: watershed ecology, geology, dams, wild and scenic rivers, public lands, and flora & fauna. Each chapter is followed by a section called ‘Talking Points’, where the important material from the chapter is condensed into bullet points to make it easier for a guide to pick up the book and directly relay the information to their audience. Each talking points section contains a learning activity based on the content that incorporates the surrounding landscape. The final chapter contains descriptions and beautiful illustrations of local flora and fauna.

The book was released in print and distributed to local guides, though you can view a digital copy below.
